Job Advertisements for English Majors

Assignment: This assignment requires you to bookmark two job advertisements for which you have the primary qualifications. Specifically, you need to select one “dream job” – the job you would love to have but not sure you could get as a recently graduated English major and one job which you are certain you could get.

Strategies: For helpful websites for finding job advertisements, check the ENG376Jobs site (by logging in to delicious.com) where we have already placed some useful bookmarks. While jokes about serving French fries and pouring coffee will always abound, English majors are uniquely situated to pick from a wide range of jobs in virtually any industry.

Technical Information: You will link these job advertisements using del.icio.us. We have created a course account where these job ads can not only be saved but also accessed by other members of the class.

How to save bookmarks on the class page:

1. Go to: http://delicious.com/save

2. It will then prompt you to sign in. Use the following information to do so:

Username: ENG376Jobs

Password: careers1

3. Copy & paste or enter the URL of the site you wish to bookmark

4. Add Tags which describe your site. (You can click on the suggested tags below to add them to your tags.

5. Make sure to “tag” the site with your name in order to get credit for the link. Use the following format to tag your name: First Name_Last Initial (i.e. Chris_M)

Due Date: Both of your links must be added to the course site by 3:00 pm on Feb. 3rd^th.
